Geprom will be present at the strategic mission to Mexico organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya through ACCIÓ – Agency for the Competitiveness of Enterprises – in collaboration with the Catalonia Automotive Industry Cluster (CIAC). The objective of this business trip, which will take place from March 11th to 16th, 2018, is to present the opportunities offered by this market and to connect with the main manufacturers in the country.
During the mission, Geprom will showcase its technological solutions in the realm of Industry 4.0 and industrial automation, aiming to provide companies with products and services that can improve their processes to successfully face the fourth industrial revolution. In the connected industry landscape, real-time development and integration cases of the Legato Sapient system will be presented, one of the most widely implemented MES systems worldwide. Additionally, Geprom will present its automation engineering services, which cover solutions for material handling, logistics, control systems, and surface treatment.
The companies participating in the mission are: Cepicat, Enertika, Idasa, MMM, Tapla, Zanini, E. Vila Projects, Geprom, Campus Motor Anoia, Tecnomatrix, Trigo Group, Ingedetec, and the Eurecat-Leitat Technology Center.
During the trip, the business delegation will meet with multinational companies established in Mexico, such as Bosch, Volkswagen, and Mazda. They will also have meetings with representatives from the National Auto Parts Industry (INA), the leading representative body for Mexican companies dedicated to manufacturing components for automobiles, the Automotive Cluster, which groups over 70 companies in the sector and 130 suppliers, and Ciateq, an organization of advanced manufacturing centers across the country.
The automotive sector is the leading industry in Mexico in terms of job creation, technological transfer, investment attraction, and human capital development. From January to June 2017, it accounted for 30.8% of Mexico’s total exports and 9.3% of the manufacturing industry.
With this mission, Geprom strengthens its internationalization strategy in the Mexican market, which was previously initiated with several technological consulting projects at Audi’s plant in Puebla.
