We tell you what Advanced Factories 2024 was like!

For three days, Advanced Factories 2024 turned Barcelona into the epicenter of automation, industrial robotics and systems integration.
In numbers, it is the edition with the largest expansion, brought together 567 exhibiting firms, 382 speakers and was visited by 27,756 professionals.
Attendees were able to have a detailed view of how Industry 4.0 is transforming industrial operations around the world, as there was no shortage of live demonstrations, case study presentations and meetings with solution providers.

From our stand and together with Telefónica Tech, at this edition of then this edition of Advanced Factories 2024, in which Telefónica celebrates its centenary, we have shown how we approach a digital transformation project, being specialists and references in the automation and digitization of processes and integrating technology from the industrial field at OT/IT level and thus promoting a more efficient, productive, safe and sustainable production.

Smart Industry 5.0

Under the slogan: Smart Industry 5.0, we showed a demo of an end-to-end production process of a key ring, from which we can visualize and understand how our solutions through 5G technology, connectivity, a control tower, MES, WMS and AMR systems in the storage, stock and logistics management phase, can transform industrial processes.

Within this process, a robotic printing phase is also contemplated thanks to an industrial robotic arm (KUKA), a collaborative robotic arm (UR), an industrial 3D injection printer and artificial vision to perform assembly, printing and quality control tasks.
In addition, during the process it was possible to simulate a cyber-attack on one of the assets (robotic arm or AMR, for example), at which point the Aristeo solution was integrated.
as a response, and the possibility of performing predictive or corrective maintenance through augmented reality glasses. Finally, we use blockchain to provide end-to-end end-to-end traceability a end-to-end traceability.

This demo is a clear example of how flows, quality and efficiency can be improved in different industrial processes through the use of integrated technologies.

What is a control tower?

The control tower is a digital platform that sits on top of all plant operating systems, designed to integrate all the information collected in the different layers (PLC’s, SCADA’s, MES Systems, Business, external information, etc.) and to be able to represent it in an agile and visual way for the use of different profiles within an organization.

The objective of this technology is to have all the information of a factory, regardless of its origin, in one interface and to allow users to make strategic decisions through transparency of processes and complex interactions between different parameters.

This system is characterized by its ability to ingest large amounts of data and its ease of configuration at user level to represent them in a flexible and customized way for each use case.

What is MES, SCADA and UOC?

The MES systems systems are essential for the digitization of industrial operations by providing full connectivity at all levels of the factory.
They offer control over production, traceability, logistics and maintenance, and are useful for operators, plant managers, production managers and management.
SCADA SCADA SYSTEMS systems are vital for monitoring and controlling industrial processes, enabling greater efficiency and productivity.
During the fair, we showcased the modular and scalable SIMATIC WinCC OA solution that ensures connectivity and security, while the WMS system optimizes warehouse management, offering traceability, visibility and quality.
Finally, we also presented a unified control center (UOC)which integrates various subsystems into a single platform, facilitating the management and monitoring of different aspects, such as energy and infrastructure.

Our participation in Advanced Factories 2024

Dario Cesena participated in the round table – Digitalization as a key element to ensure productivity and sustainability in the automotive sector, where he participated together with Diego Galar Pascual, moderated by Edorta Echave Garcia.

The availability of data in real time guarantees immediate decision-making in the day-to-day production processes, so that, particularly in the automotive industry given the complexity and competitiveness of the sector, data becomes a fundamental asset to maximize efficiency and ensure the sustainability of automotive factories“.

Also, Javier Arias Martos had the opportunity to chat with Jose Rodriguez, MIGASA GROUP, explaining his experience as a customer.
A company in the agri-food sector with the implementation of MOM technologies.

“Challenges and lessons learned in the implementation of a MOM system in the agri-food sector through the experience of the Project Manager by MIGASA’s Alcolea oil bottling plant.”
