This week, Geprom participated in the third edition of Advanced Factories, the leading national trade fair for industrial innovation. During this edition, Geprom presented its most innovative solutions in industrial automation and Industry 4.0 to the more than 16,000 attendees hosted at the CCIB in Barcelona.

For three days, Barcelona became the meeting point for industrial leaders, thanks to the solutions in digital manufacturing, machine tools, Artificial Intelligence, additive manufacturing, automation, 3D printing, Big Data, Internet of Things, Analytics, and Blockchain showcased by more than 300 participating exhibitors.

At its stand, Geprom presented its latest innovations and solutions in the field of industrial intelligence — including virtual reality, MES Legato Sapient, digital twin technology, and QDA Quality Software, among others — which visitors were able to experience firsthand.

One of the most outstanding elements at the stand was a Lego model representing the end-of-line stage of a production process and its subsequent real-time production monitoring/management. Through the MES Legato Sapient system, all processes, efficiencies, and downtime of the Lego line were displayed in real time.

Another solution presented at the stand was the Virtalis virtual reality software application. Through it, visitors were able to step inside the virtual factory, observing all processes up close — from conceptual design and training to the optimization of production layouts.

The success story of SEAT was also presented, where Geprom controls and manages real-time production at the Martorell and Zona Franca plants through the MES LEGATO system as the central axis. The project is further complemented by the implementation of new tools such as production flow simulation (digital twin) and applications for maintenance digitalization and optimization. Through Digital Twin technology, we can create a virtual copy of our factory to study its movements, potential issues, and corresponding solutions.

The magazine infoPLC++ published an in-depth article about our success story in its special Advanced Factories edition. It can be read here.

Additionally, the stand included a demonstration of our quality software, which digitizes and optimizes all processes for detecting product defects and resolving them quickly.

In parallel with the exhibition, the Industry 4.0 Congress was held as part of the event agenda, where more than 180 international speakers participated in talks, conferences, and debates on Industry 4.0, its teams, and its processes. Dario Cesena, CEO of Geprom, took part in the session “Data-driven decisions: a threat or an opportunity?”, where he highlighted the importance of real-time data accuracy.

Dario Cesena also had the opportunity to participate as a speaker at the Factory Innovation Theatre and at the Brokerage Stage (the latter alongside Secartys), where he shared his vision on digitalization and the factory of the future.

The third edition of the trade fair concluded with 360 innovations presented, 120 hours of inspiring conferences, and 50 hours of complementary activities. Advanced Factories is already preparing its next edition for March 3, 4, and 5, 2020.

Once again, our thanks to our partners Gefasoft, Objective, QDA, New Solutions, Telefónica Empresas, and Virtalis for their support and collaboration. Participating in Advanced Factories and continuing to move forward together toward the factory of the future would not have been possible without them.
